My my, another half year goes by! If you haven't heard about Ubuntu Linux, readers, I suggest that you check it out. I've been using the half-strong Linux flavor for a few years now, but it has just, in my opinion, hit it's prime. Ubuntu Linux (Release version Feisty) comes on one CD that you can pop right into your CD drive. Restart your computer and magically, you'll be running Linux- without deleting or messing up anything on your computer.
But wait, there's more! This new version of Linux makes it easier than ever to use your cool Nvidia graphics card that you have in your computer, because I know you have one. Sorry to say that its ATI support is lacking, but it will still work with an ATI, you just won't get all the same bells and whistles. Another great addition to this great distribution? FULL NTFS READ and WRITE support thanks to Automatix. This is a god-send for anyone like... well.. me.
So what have I been able to do with this powerful new operating system? Well- for starters, I put on all the bells and whistles on it. After not being satisfied with just having a pimped out version of the Penguin, I decided that I needed more. And since I need to use MatLab for school, I decided that MatLab had to run on Linux. And it did! So all in all, if you have the means- which you do because Ubuntu is Free -I highly reccomend this leading-generation software. Cheers!

This your yearly update, oh ficticious loyal readers of synapsing.com. Well, have we all heard of Microsoft's next big thing? Windows Vista? Yea- it's basically going to be evil. I would strongly urge everyone in the entire world to never buy it or any machine with it. Microsoft has decided to integrate Digital Rights Managment right into the operating system code- say bye bye to your mp3s! Along with Vista- Microsoft has release Live.com, a shitty new search engine that it will intigrate with its shitty new operating system.
What does this shitty new era hold? Well- for me and this site, the beginning was marked by millions upon millions of spammers hammering my site. Why oh why would spammers hit my site? Lucky for me I'm the first result when searching for "synapsing" from live.com. This lead to upwards of a thousand spammed comments all containing links for impotent men and I'm sure my email address has been mined close to twenty-three-and-a-half thousand times. I have fixed this problem, however, with some new authentication scripts. I've also removed any and all email addresses from the code of this site, but if you still want to leave a comment with your email address, feel free, I'll only use it for personal reasons (ie: responding to your comment) and it will not be displayed or stored anywhere that spammers can get to it.
One last thing: The old style sheets don't have rules for the comments, a problem which I'm sure I will fix at some point over my winter break, so just bear with the comments looking a little weird if you change your stylesheet on the About CSS page. That said, enjoy a look around at the new and improved, albeit unupdated, Synapse Software!

Just a word here: soon I'll be updating the site to make it so that you can leave comments on the actual project page for each project- say if you like it, if you hate it, what you'd like to see happen in it, whatever! Another big important thing is this: This woman, Patti Santangelo is getting sued by the RIAA for, you guessed it, downloading music, but she's not gonna take it lying down! She's going to fight back and she's doing it on her own, but you can help by donating money to her cause. This is not me just trying to get money, see it on other sites, like bugmenot.com, downhillbattle.org, boingboing.net and many others! Please give! Every dollar helps. Thanks!

Again, it's been quite some time since I've updated the site. I ended up NOT adding that new project I talked about in my last post. I kind of abandoned that one, actually, but it will be picked back up at some point, just not now. I did add a new project, though, one called TodaysMix. Check it out. I worked way hard on it. It's not perfect yet, but it's getting there ;-). Anyways, you may also notice that I changed the default Style of the site. I like this one more, so I made it the default since people were always bitching about how ugly the blue and grey was. Anyways- check around. Check out the About CSS page... Umm... Ya! Download TodaysMix because it's cool!

It's been quite some time since I've updated. I'm going to add a new project. The project is a work-in-progress that works pretty well so far. It's a utility to add file-sharing to Gaim. It's not quite done, I still have to add the Gaim interface. Anyways, umm. Check around the site, there's some new stuff, and I'm working on a new CSS for the site, hopefully one that will shake things up. If you're using Mozilla or anything that's NOT IE, check out the Heart CSS because it's my favorite to date.

Well the site is actually up! The post below was made long before I actually purchased the domain and hosting and everything, so it's not really... 100% correct. I don't think that a CVS is going to happen here for two reasons, 1) I'm lazy, 2) it's pretty overkill, considering that I'm not really professional nor do I have people who are actually using my software, since it's mostly pretty useless. So enjoy your stay here, at Synapse Software, however brief it may be, and make sure to check out the About CSS page, that's the coolest part of the site, in my humble opinion.

Welcome to Synapse Software! I, personally, can't believe you've found your way here because it's not even posted yet, but hopefully, it will be up on the web soon. Well, that is, as soon as BAF gets his act together and decided that he's going to make his server up and running. Hopefully, I can post a CVS to all of my projects, making it very easy for everyone, including myself, to access my projects, specifically the ones that are still in devolpment, like PIe Script and RPG2.
